A handbag trend that's quickly been catching on is the cross body bag. It almost seems to exist in rebellion to the ginormous "everything but the kitchen sink" purse that's been so popular for the last few years. It's better for your back because the weight is more evenly distributed, and it requires you to only choose the essentials.
I own a couple cross body bags & my only complaint is that I can't my notebooks in them while I'm walking to class. On the other hand, they're comfortable and casual and often have a vintage vibe. All of these styles feature have metal hardware which gives them an updated modern & utility feel to them.
How do you feel about cross body bags? Could you give up your giant caryall for them?

I've been looking for a decent cross body bag so hopefully the new trend will bring in a wave of new bags for me to chose from! I don't know if I could give up my giant caryall completely but think they probably compliment dresses better :]

ReplyDeleteI quite like cross body bags. They are really comfortable and its easier when you're out and about because you've got both hands free. Its great for shopping, but maybe not for going to class.

ReplyDeleteCross-body bags are pretty practical! That being said, the only one I own is a really sporty utilitarian one made of black nylon that I use when I'm travelling--it's more secure than a normal purse and it leaves my hands free.
ReplyDeleteI love cross-body bags, but I'm not sure if I could use them on a daily basis as a purse. I used to use messenger bags, and they were quite uncomfortable after awhile - perhaps because I was carrying too much stuff with me. Cross-body bags, however, would make for a good investment, even if only used sparingly. :)
ReplyDeleteI bought one at Zara back in December on my crazy shopping frenzy! They are so awesome and so convenient and force me to keep my bag in order so I don't go fishing for that chapstick of mine.

i LOVE cross body bags! i have a couple and they are just so practical; carrying one of these little ones, you foget you have a bag at all - so light and comfy!! i've gotten really sick of schlepping big, heavy bags over my arm so recently i've been wearing little ones like these almost everywhere! xox
